It was just a little over a month ago when I shared the Official Trailer for the now premiering Amazon Prime Video program “The Boys”. This Sony Pictures Television feature is based on a comic series with the same name that was a creation of Garth Ennis. If you missed the trailer posting, please click HERE because I also added a whole bunch of posters that are not seen in this post. Below you’ll find the Official Poster, Premise and Casting so do read on.

Premise: The Boys takes place in “a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame” and “revolves around a group of vigilantes known informally as ‘The Boys,’ who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Truth be told I don’t know all that much about this property and despite really loving the creative mind of Garth Ennis (“Preacher”), I never managed to read this ultra violent comic series. I thought that the trailer held some promise so perhaps I will check and see if my local retailer has the collected editions on the shelves. As someone who doesn’t have Amazon Prime and will not be getting it any time soon, its my hope that said series makes its way to the other places to enjoy such things as time goes on. Since I am still waiting for that to happen with “The Tick” I should probably not get my hopes up too high. Closing up I wonder which of you Pop Culture fanatics are excited about this comic book coming to the live action small screen. You can chime in with that insight down in the comments section below. See you next time.
