The world of the MonsterVerse is an exciting one and so many of us have been pining for more content since the “Godzilla Vs. Kong” film from a few years ago. These wishes were granted in the form of this new streaming series called “Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters” and we’ve touched upon this topic with the Teaser and Official trailers over the last few months. The series premieres today on the Apple TV streaming service and you can check out the premise and casting once again to see if this compels you to subscribe to this particular service.
The Premise: Following the epic battle between Godzilla and the MUTOs that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, two siblings, following in their father’s footsteps, uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Now before I say anything else let me share that I myself am NOT an Apple TV subscriber and I cannot see myself signing up anytime soon. I’m currently subscribed to too many services already and to sign onto a new one for a single show doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. The other thing that doesn’t make sense is the choice of this over something like Netflix or MAX since they’re quite big. I do love pretty much anything Godzilla but I guess I will have to wait until this gets shared along somehow or gets a physical release. It does look interesting and while I don’t mean to crap on this service, it just feels like there is less bang for the buck with this one. Maybe if it was connected to something else I’d feel different. That’s all I have on this one so please let me know what you think about this series premiering and if you will watch it. We can also discuss the folks in the region who might feel like inviting me over to watch a dozen or so episodes ;p Just kidding, I’m not budging from the Media Command HQ for anything unless its super duper important.
