I’ve already discussed the film “Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” over on my Lifestyle Entertainment website “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” by sharing its first two trailers (seen HERE and HERE) and if you haven’t yet enjoyed that weirdness I cannot stress it any more emphatically that you do since its some wild stuff. Today, the film opens up in theaters everywhere and I think that this is going to be one crazy ride. Let’s review the premise and casting after the theatrical poster.

The Premise: In the Pokémon universe, Tim Goodman is a former Pokémon Trainer and the son of prominent detective Harry Goodman. When his father disappears in a car crash, Tim arrives in Ryme City and ends up meeting Detective Pikachu who was Harry’s former Pokémon partner. Tim is somehow able to understand the Detective, and they reluctantly team up to find Harry and uncover the mystery surrounding his disappearance. Chasing clues through the streets of Ryme City, the dynamic duo soon discover a devious plot that poses a threat to the Pokémon universe.

The Cast/Characters:
Ryan Reynolds as Detective Pikachu (voice/facial capture)
Ikue ?tani as Detective Pikachu’s (normal Pikachu voice)
Justice Smith as Tim Goodman
Max Fincham plays a younger Tim
Kathryn Newton as Lucy Stevens
Ken Watanabe as Detective Yoshida
Omar Chaparro as Sebastian
Paul Kitson as Harry Goodman
Karan Soni as Jack
Bill Nighy, Suki Waterhouse, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, and Rob Delaney in undisclosed roles

PiercingMetal Thoughts: At first I thought this was going to be a kids film and while it might bring a bunch of them in, the trailer gave me the impression that Reynolds was doing his best Deadpool but if that character had been turned into a small video game cartoon character. That made me add it here as well since I do often see several Pikachu running around the New York Comic Con and other similar conventions. This looks like a fun film to see but I am not too sure that I will be able to catch it early on in its run though. I’ve got a pretty hectic few weeks with the concert stuff starting tonight actually so there just might not be proper time. What about you readers though? Will you be seeing this one on the quick or will you be waiting a little bit on it. Chime in down below in the comments section.
