We were just finishing with the annual NY Comic Con when we last discussed the upcoming film “Mortal Engines”. Back then it was to showcase the Official 2nd Trailer which you’ll want to examine HERE before continuing along. The film opens today in theaters everywhere and comes care of Universal Pictures and the mind of Peter Jackson (you might remember him from “King Kong”, “Lord Of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” films). Take a look at the Official Theatrical poster, the premise and casting. I’ll close out with additional editorial as I usually do.
The Premise: Tom is a twenty-something Londoner who has only ever lived inside his travelling hometown, and his feet have never touched grass, mud or land. His first taste of the outside comes quite abruptly: Tom gets in the way of the masked Hester’s attempt to kill Thaddeus Valentine, a powerful man she blames for her mother’s murder, and both Hester and Tom end up thrown out of the moving “traction” city, to fend for themselves. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though I enjoyed the trailer and felt that this might be something thrilling to watch as cities overtake one another like some kind of Battlebots from Space, there is no chance of my catching this one in the theaters until after the holidays have passed us by. As you know, the film “Aquaman” also opens up soon and that one is higher up on my list of films to see as soon as possible. With so much superhero related content here I am sure you can understand why that is the case. Hopefully I can find time for that one, but with Trans-Siberian Orchestra in my region shortly after and my attending the show I still need a couple of days but I digress. What do you fans of this book think about the film opening up and will you be on line nice and early to catch it soon? Chime in down below and remember no spoilers if you have seen it already. We don’t like that much. Until next time.
