PiercingMetal Thoughts: According to my personal concert records, I’ve been into Nightwish in the live sense since their first ever appearance in NYC at the long shuttered L’Amour club back in 2003. For some reason I made notes about the show and shared them with an online forum who posted the information and began me on this music scribe journey. That story from my own history can be found HERE and mind you there was no PiercingMetal.com yet at all. Thinking of this new tour makes me smile with reflective memory on the idea of taking a chance on something completely new to my concert going dollars. Sure I had enjoyed a number of the songs that were found on the Internet but was this going to be any good live? It surely was and I was a devoted supporter ever since. The band has gone through several changes but each one allowed for greater musical growth and now its pretty safe to say that Nightwish is one of the most important Metal bands in existence in terms of their success in bringing the world together in music. It’s quite an experience and I cannot wait to see them in my city at the Playstation Theater. I’d suggest that those interested get their tickets fast because this will sell out very quickly. Considering they played at the Hammerstein during their last tour and sold it out, the smaller PST will likely be an almost immediate sellout. If you are still new to Nightwish and waivering at the idea of checking it out live, that’s fine, just order some of the videos which I’ve linked below and by the comprehensive “Best Of” when it gets released. So far no opening act has been announced and there is a part of me that doesn’t want one at all since this lets fans get an evening loaded with Nightwish. I’d be totally fine with that since they really don’t need support from anyone to guarantee all the tickets get sold. So let me close this one up and get back to the rest of the day, what do you readers think of this new tour announcement? Is it something that you will add to your list of to do? Let me know in the comments section below. See you next time.
