There sure are a lot of tours being announced and while I cannot possibly hope to get to every single one of them, I do like to make sure that the ones we touch upon help you learn about some new and exciting artists. Case in point the guys in Night Demon who have recently announced their return to our shores. Take a look at the full on press release below and I’ll return with some editorial notions. Let’s go.
The Press Release:
Ventura California’s power trio NIGHT DEMON, featuring Jarvis Leatherby (vocals/bass), Armand John Anthony (guitar), and Dusty Squires (drums), have announced details for their Darkness Over North America Tour 2018 in support of their critically acclaimed new album Darkness Remains. The Darkness Over North America tour will feature special guests Blood Star and kicks off on August 8th at Thee Parkside in San Francisco, CA, taking the band throughout the U.S. and Canada, ending in Austin, TX, at Come And Take It Live.
Jarvis Leatherby Says:
“While Night Demon has been spending most of our time in Europe and other countries having already performed 150 plus shows on this album cycle, it’s time to announce our return home. We have been blessed to be a part of some great major market festivals stateside since the release of Darkness Remains. Namely Ozzfest, Frost and Fire III and Strikefest in Southern California, Defenders of the Old in New York, Spring Bash in Milwaukee and Hell’s Heroes in Houston. Many of you have been calling for headlining North American tour on this album, and that is exactly what we are going to deliver. Looking forward to raging with all our friends and fans.”
NIGHT DEMON will be on tour in support of their latest full-length studio effort, Darkness Remains (Century Media), the follow up to their debut record Curse of the Damned. Darkness Remains received critical acclaim, earning the band their first Metal Hammer Award for Up & Coming in Berlin, Germany.
Darkness Remains delivers all the expected ‘New Wave of British Heavy Metal’ inspired thrills and chills, but also sees the band honing their songwriting chops. Not only has the band’s overall sound matured, but the individual members have also carved out their own niches, sharpened their attack, and even taken some chances along the way. Hitting No. 1 on BRAVEPICKS 2017, Brave Words states “Darkness never looked so bright!” while Cryptic Rock gives Darkness Remains 5 out of 5 stars saying “There simply are not enough positive words out there to express all of the joy Darkness Remains will bring Heavy Metal lovers” and proclaims “expect to be absolutely blown away.”
Boasting a full, powerful, and clear production that retains a raw edginess, Darkness Remains sets the gold standard for how a traditional metal record should sound in 2018.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Okay so here it is. I admit that I haven’t seen Night Demon more than once despite my hoping to be there a few times more than that but the scheduling or awareness at the time just didn’t pan out for me. With that said I am telling you this as one of the long standing music media professionals that you come to when seeking the knowledge on what should be paid mind to against that which should be avoided and I firmly say this – “Catch This Band”. They have a classic Heavy Metal style which doesn’t get lost in the time before as much as they embrace it AND they are contemporary enough to stand with the stuff that still rallies on the stage today. It’s 2018 and a lot of the favorites are choosing to limit their shows or even retire and release less albums. Do you want to wonder what to do when another favorite heads to their closing gigs or do you want to be armed with the information about what to support. I say the second option. Make. It. So.
