New Year’s Music Resolutions For 2013: Part 8

We are off and running my dear readers in The Metal Republic and while it’s only day two of 2013, this is actually part eight of our “New Year’s Music Resolutions for 2013” from Metal and Hard Rock greats. Someone asked me why I actually started this just after Christmas, and well the answer is simple….I started them on 12/26 because I wanted to is why 🙂 Being serious, I do it like this to give you readers something new and interesting as the year closes since its generally a dry time for big happenings. It also lets me better space out the responding quotes. Now onto the regularly scheduled program….

1. Mo “Royce” Petersen (Tragedy: Heavy Metal Tribute To The Bee Gees): We resolve to look like Manowar by the end of 2013. (We already sound exactly like them)

2. Addiction For Destruction: Addiction For Destruction are looking forward to on tour over the world in 2013 and releasing a couple of new videos! We want to keep building our international fan base. Train keeps rollin’, stay tuned!

3. Steph Paynes (Lez Zeppelin): That Lez Zeppelin will be invited to play the Isle of Wight Festival, followed by a UK Tour, during which many magickal things will happen…

4. The Wizard (Pilgrim): I will listen to one entire EARTH record a day for each and every day of 2013.

5. Mike Anderson (Cloudscape): More metal heads to buy the music and support the bands and artists they listen to…physical CDs or iTune downloads…whatever as long as it’s not file-sharing…;€

6. Maxi Nil (Visions Of Atlantis): So here is my music resolution for 2013…”We all struggle to succeed in the jungle of music business…what I have realized the last few years is that the most important thing in life is to love and be loved in return…with music it’s the same actually…once you really love it and you’re committed and true to it (this means be true to yourself too), you’ll make it happen! So dream on and fight for what you really love! The universe is all ears!!;-)”

7. Blake Meahl (Huntress): “Smoke more weed and play slower”

8. ZP Theart (I Am I/former Dragonforce): “To do everything bigger and better than ever before. Look to the future and learn from the past”

9. Ross Dolan (Immolation): “Going into 2013, I would like to take a moment to thank all the good people around the world that have been as passionate in supporting our music as we are in creating it! Your support and dedication to this music is always appreciated and cherished! It has been a pleasure for us to bring our music to so many people and to meet so many of you along the way. As for a new years resolution, its generally not something I think about since I try to live in the present and don’t really like to look to far down the road. With that said, I think it would be great to continue doing this for another year and hopefully well beyond that. To bring our music to as many people as possible is always the ultimate goal for us, so that’s what we always strive for. Other than that, being happy and healthy would be at the top of my wish list. All the best to you Ken and to all the metal fans around the world, have a happy, healthy and metal new year!”

10. Quinn Lukas (Icarus Witch): To share another great year with my band mates.

11. Wayne Findlay (Michael Schenker Group/No Sky Today): I’m really looking forward to finishing the 2nd No Sky Today CD and also a new MSG CD. We have a lot of touring planned for the year starting around April, which will keep me busy. My goal is to spend quality time with the family until then, and continue to write tons of material. New year’s resolution…Gsus7#9 to G9!

12. Johnny Lee Middleton (Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra): My resolution is learning to play upright bass. I start school Jan. 7th
