The world got a quick teaser and date announcement clip for Marvel’s “The Punisher” which will be exclusive to the Netflix streaming service. I couldn’t get to this until now so please indulge me. I’ve also added the previous seasons premise and casting for good measure. There wasn’t a whole lot of stuff to get online unfortunately.
Premise: In the first season, Frank Castle, known throughout New York City as “the Punisher” after exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his family, uncovers a larger conspiracy beyond what was done to him and his family.[1] The second season sees Castle, who has been living a quiet life on the road, drawn into the mystery surrounding the attempted murder of Amy Bendix, forcing him to decide if he should embrace his life as the Punisher. PiercingMetal Thoughts: I find it interesting to only have a quick teaser clip as opposed to a full on trailer with the show streaming in ten days for all the world of Netflix users to see but oh well, it is what it is. My hope is that we get a proper trailer and an official poster since you longtime readers know I love to do those “TONIGHT” posts for our Pop Culture area. The other question I am sure most people have on their mind is how soon after the show debuts will it be officially cancelled by Netflix. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, I should inform you that all three series of “Iron Fist”, “Luke Cage” and “Daredevil” have been cancelled by the service and many are wondering whether or not we shall see these cast members in the roles going forward. I’ve said this before that I was okay with Finn Jones as Iron Fist/Danny Rand but absolutely love Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Mike Colter as Luke Cage. To lose them would be criminal and let’s not forget “Jessica Jones” and “The Punisher” who have had amazing talent playing the parts with Kristen Ritter and Jon Bernthal. Those shows remain listed but I am sure their “demise” is forthcoming to go along with the others. Anyway let me get off the soapbox and ask are you planning on tuning in or not. I am so far behind on these series that its not funny. Hopefully the cancellations don’t find them being removed altogether but only time will tell. See you next time.
