Back in 1982, Jim Henson and company brought us deep into the world of “The Dark Crystal”. It was so far away from the famous Muppets he was most famously known for but it became a bit of a cult hit and now at long last it has a continuation almost forty years later. The new series is called “The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance” and will stream exclusively on the Netflix service. Below the trailer you will find the light premise and the massive voice and puppeteer cast that it takes to bring this to life. Enjoy.

The Synopsis: As the Gelfling race on the planet Thra become aware of the fact that their customarily worshiped overlords, the Skeksis, are exploitative, taxing essence-suckers who are destroying their world, three Gelflings — Rian, Brea and Deet — inspire a rebellion after discovering a horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power that threatens their entire planet. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Before I get into my thoughts on the trailer, I feel I must apologize for the length of this narrative. Obviously the cast involved in the animation and the voices is massive in an undertaking like this one and while it’s a bit to read – At the end of the day it makes for better Google searching and we always want that. So about the trailer. I really liked what they showed here and admit that I will need to watch the original film before even diving into this one as its been so long for me. I’m surprised that I don’t own this one but oh well, I must have forgotten to get it and by now its on Blu-ray so that is fine by me. I know that a fuller, longer trailer will come and with that I take my leave of you. You can chime in down below if you like since I always welcome topical notions to the mix. See you soon.
