Music Luminaries Share Their New Year’s Metal Resolutions for 2012: Part 3

Hello again, it’s great that you are sticking with our New Year’s Metal Resolutions for 2012 Blog Series, and welcome to Wednesday or our “third times the charm edition”. As you have seen over the last couple of days posts, we posed the inquiry to a number of musical greats about what their resolutions might be as it relates to Metal or Music on the whole. I’ve loved what we got back from them and without any further adieu, please enjoy this chapter.

Stu Block (lead vocals for Iced Earth): My New Years Resolutions for 2012 is, to broaden my knowledge to the things that are happening in my country, politically and financially. Eat healthier and work out more.

Oliver Palotai (keyboards for Kamelot & Sons Of Seasons): My New Years Musical Resolution is to continue making good music and to further kick the mainstream in the ass!

Nick Avila (bassist for Powerglove): Powerglove’s New Years Metal resolution for 2012 is to overcome our Skyrim addictions, and write and record a new Video Game album for you. We are also exploring the logistics of building a Starburst cannon, setting up a Powerglove video game metal convention, touring Japan, and entering the world beard and moustache championships. Seeing as none of us currently have moustaches, we have our work cut out for us, but with a combination of Rogaine, miracle grow, and self determination, I believe we have a good shot at failure. Cheers to failure, and Happy New Year to you all!

Jason Lekberg (lead vocalist of Ikillya): “Thanks for including us! My New Years Metal Resolution is to find new ways to keep moving IKILLYA forward. We’ve made a lot of great progress this year, but we’ve got a long, long way to go and with the ever changing industry it’s imperative that we find new ways to sustain ourselves and expose more people to our music.”

Veronica Freeman (lead vocalist for Benedictum): My New Year’s Resolution for 2012 is to work on the next Benedictum album, get my creative thoughts together and really devote myself to making it the best yet!!

Doc Coyle (guitar for God Forbid): My Metal Resolution is to unleash the new God Forbid album on the world, and get back out on the road, and kick ass! I also want to get back to work on some of the music I’ve been working on the side as well. I just want to stay creative and busy!

Elize Ryd (lead vocalist for Amaranthe): My New Year’s Metal Resolution for 2012 is to do Pilates every morning and write great new songs!

Alecia Mixi Demner (lead vocalist for Stitched Up Heart):Our musical resolution for the New Year is to finish up the full length, build a whole new live show, and tour the country for at least a few more months than last year!

Brian Viglione (drummer for Dresden Dolls/Face Of The Sun): My New Year’s Metal (or Musical) Resolution Is……..To pay better attention and try to NOT miss events like the “Metal Masters 2” Clinic that just took place in NYC! Seeing members of Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, & Megadeth jam together and kick some knowledge about what they do is something I hope continues into 2012!

Silje Wergeland (singer for The Gathering/Octavia Sperati): My New Years Musical Resolution is to surprise with some unexpected new tunes on the new The Gathering album!”

Wow that was a great batch of resolutions and a lot of inspiring stuff that makes you think. I think that I best keep up on myself and in better shape as well as paying more attention to that which goes on around me too. Anyways, don’t be alarmed at this chapters ending because we still have some more to come. Until tomorrow, keep your eyes peeled for the newness and click on these amazing musicians websites to help further along their cause.
