Motley Crue Announces “The Final Tour” for 2014

Just over two weeks ago this rather cryptic and dramatic graphic arrived in my email here at the PiercingMetal Command HQ regarding the band Motley Crue from their record label and while I could have posted something about it for you fine readers at that immediate time, I decided to wait until the date that the official scoop was at hand to do it so it had more meat and potatoes and got right to the point of what we all wanted to learn……

That said, it was only a short time ago that Motley Crue’s four members announced that they would be embarking on their “Final Tour” in 2014 and be bringing along the great Alice Cooper as their supporting act. The bands press conference was streamed live and first presented some thoughts and observations by the bands attorney and several others. We then heard from Alice Cooper who talked about touring with the band for the very first time in their mutual history and he appeared excited about that and the band that he currently has under his command. The members of Motley Crue were then introduced and in case you have been under a rock all these years that’s Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars. The bands dais had tombstones in front of it that all bore their names and said R.I.P. on them.

The guys spoke about their plans and said that once they signed the legal document that their attorney would present them with after the conference, that this was it and the tour their final go round. Nikki said that fans should expect a tour like no other and that he feels many bands are ripping people off. One of the hot topics of the conference was the fact that some tickets would be as cheap as $15 apiece while other angles kept trying to corner the band into answering if they would be coming back months after the tour ended with a grand return. Those questions made Sixx chuckle at the press who tried to catch them. The band was also polled about their plans afterward and each has of them have something in their minds that they wish to focus more on. Vince wants to do more with his restaurants while Nikki, Tommy and Mick all will be doing music with different parties to keep life interesting. I’m sure the band’s army of fans will be sinking their teeth into that stuff for sure. The tickets for the tour will be on sale on 1/31 and the tour begins in the middle of the summer so check out the healthy roster of dates below.

Considering there are a about five months of touring dates to enjoy you have more than enough opportunity to get to see them before they go away for good. Now you seem skeptical about this officially publicized “end to all bad things” tour and I don’t blame you. After all we’ve been enjoying KISS and Ozzy Osbourne’s continued musical adventures long after each group announced farewell runs. One has to feel that the words “last tour” and Rock and Roll don’t really ever work out in the same sentence but who knows perhaps The Crue will prove us wrong and really say “thank you goodnight” one last time as a group on the same stage. What are your thoughts about the whole shebang? Does this make you sad as a Metal fan and will you head out to one or two or three of the shows if your means allow? I know that I am going to try and hit at least two of the area shows if possible.
