I’m not sure how it happened but I missed that last go round for Meshuggah at NYC’s now shuttered and torn down Roseland Ballroom and have never forgiven myself for it since the show was amazing (I was told) and the great venue no longer stands. That thought comes to me because it was a show I could have seen and missed and those chances are not ones we Metalheads should be taking when it comes to a crushing band and their latest tour. This rather long intro is where I share the news about the recently announced tour by Meshuggah who will be hitting our side of the fence in the Fall and bring along High On Fire with them as well. The ninth wonder of the unnatural world, extreme tech-metal messiah’s MESHUGGAH have announced their epic North American Fall 2016 tour. The trek will kick-off at the House Of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on October 10th, visit 2 Canadian cities as well as Knotfest Mexico before concluding in Maryland at The Fillmore on November 6th. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Dear readers this tour will let you get the “Djent” out and yes I realize that it was a terrible quip but oh well – I have my moments of brilliance and other times only half so. Now in my humble opinion there is only one way to understand what Meshuggah is like in concert and that is to go to one of their shows and witness that overpowering presence and sound in person. I must admit that I was quite the latecomer to the bands work but one thing I have long maintained about music is that it’s really never too late to get into a band. Perhaps some friends have listened longer than you have but so what. You can still be a part of it all. I’m not the biggest study on High On Fire but have seen them a few times over the years and think they drop kick their audience with heavy during a show and this one is going to be a talked about pairing for a while.
