Here’s the MDF 2022 running order! Thanks for your patience while we sorted this out. More than ever, it was a pretty involved task that took longer than expected to finish. There’s a few lineup changes that we need to bring to your attention. As disappointing as this will be for some people, we’re sorry to say that Nifelheim will not be playing.
There are several issues that led to this, one of which being the delayed approval of their visas. When delays like this happen, we have the opportunity to pay thousands of dollars more for an “expedited” approval, but when the vaccination status of members in the band was brought to our attention, we decided to not pay for this, as we would just be getting visas approved for a band that can’t enter the US due to current entry requirements that prohibit their entry. Quite a bit of money has already been lost on attempting to get the band to the US (in early 2020 when their visas were approved before Covid — and again in 2021 when we had to pay for another visa petition), so we’re not in a position to lose even more.
UADA will be filling the vacant slot caused by this cancellation on Saturday at Rams Head and Necrophobic will now be closing out the night at Rams Head.
For what it’s worth, Necrophobic have had their visas since February and meet the entry requirements to enter the US, so we won’t be dealing with a similar situation with them.
Additionally, just this morning, Cough informed us that they are cancelling due to personal conflicts within the band. Rather than delay this running order being posted until a replacement is sorted, their time slot is now showing as ‘TBA’ on Thursday at Rams Head until we figure out who will replace them.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m not going to add much to this since it was already a whole lot to read but wow what a return to form for this festival. While there are many bands that I’d love to experience in the live sense there are also a whole bunch who I only know by name listed as performing. Historically speaking I’ve never attended this festival but I was interested in attending a few times over the years. I never ended up figuring it out because it was a whole lot of logistics in terms of not only getting out there and finding a place to stay but also keeping affairs in order down at home. Anyway, I just wanted to share these listings with the readership since I know a lot of you end up going and to those who are planning on attending I wonder who you are most excited to see.
