Earlier this morning, the fans of Marvel Studios upcoming film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” were able to join into a countdown to the mission launch. This was a fun, very retro reminder of the original NASA countdowns to assorted missions into space. After a brief fanfare in front of an original historic rocket from the US Space Program and cast introduction it was time to press the launch button and enjoy the trailer. Strap in for excitement True Believers, the Fantastic Four are finally here in the MCU.
The Premise: On a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic Earth, the Fantastic Four must protect their home from being devoured by the cosmic being Galactus and his enigmatic herald, the Silver Surfer. (c/o Wiki)

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve been looking forward to any clips from the upcoming Fantastic Four film for many weeks now and this does look promising for sure. Now as many know from the chatter and of course the brief premise that’s been listed, the team will face off against Galactus and the Silver Surfer. I think that’s pretty awesome despite it being fairly early in their MCU introduction. I would have preferred a flowing narrative with some of their classic villains, of course Doctor Doom and then onto Galactus but I am not the one sitting in the planning meetings. As you all also know, Doctor Doom will be portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. and is supposed to be true to the mythology but let’s see how that pans out. While the Silver Surfer is not shown in the teaser trailer, you can see that the character is female by the casting rundown. Not happy about Shalla-Bal being the Surfer as opposed to Norrin Radd but again, the planning meetings. They are supposed to be from a different dimensional universe and that is all I will say about it. What do you readers out there think about the teaser trailer? Are you exited?
