Can I still wish you readers a “Happy New Year”? I like to think that I can since we are only just now finishing the first full week of 2016 so it is still very fresh. At least to me it is. Now I have to say that I am super excited for all of the cool comic book things that are coming out this year and January has really shown that we are in for a lot of treats. The first couple of “Deadpool” True Believers issues are out and based on the timing of this post some of the issues below are already on the stands but that should not be anything problematic for you in terms of getting copies. These are the first issues only from Marvel Comics that are coming this month and in case you wondered, there are numerous variant covers to be enjoyed. While I don’t have them visually represented there are Hip Hop covers and Deadpool covers for those who want them. Here we go.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1: It’s high-stakes espionage in the Marvel Universe in this brand-new series inspired by the hit television show Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tony Stark guest-stars in the beginning of “THE COULSON PROTOCOLS.”

Logan’s closest friend, Hawkeye, will have been murdered in cold blood right before his eyes. And driven mad by the same radiation that gave him his superhuman strength, Bruce Banner will have fathered a family of hillbilly Hulks…that eventually went on to slaughter Logan’s wife and two children. But now, in the present, Old Man Logan wakes up to discover himself in a world before these atrocities, before the Wasteland. And he’s going to seize this opportunity and change history to ensure that his future never comes to pass…

Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin #1:
PiercingMetal Thoughts: As you can see Marvel Comics appears to be off to a great start with a few of these offerings and I am speaking primarily about the sure to be a fun ride of “Spider-Man/Deadpool” along with “Rocket Racoon and Groot”. The pair from “Guardians Of The Galaxy” show no signs of slowing down in terms of their popularity since the movie and that is fine by me. Now let’s discuss Deadpool. Man that movie looks like so much fun and its enough to make me not care that it doesn’t happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is instead a part of Fox’s. Silver Surfer could be fun and I’m a huge fan of Michael Allred from his “Madman” days so look forward to that art for sure. Which of these titles are up your alley and on your weekly pull list? Let me know in the comments and don’t worry I will be back with the DC Comics offerings soon.
