If you’ve been missing the world of the MonsterVerse since the “Godzilla Vs. Kong” film from a few years ago you will very likely be excited to learn about the new series that will be coming to Apple TV called “Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters”. The first look has just come via a teaser trailer and while I am not a subscriber to Apple TV, nor will be, I’ve shared that along with some premise, casting and original art down below.
The Premise: Following the epic battle between Godzilla and the MUTOs that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, two siblings, following in their father’s footsteps, uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though I’ve said this before I will repeat myself and say that as a rule I don’t like to comment too much on the teaser trailers since there is so little to dissect from them. I will say that I love the idea of this show but will stress that I will not become a subscriber to Apple TV to check it out. Considering the size of Netflix, Paramount+ and Max, I am surprised that they opted for this one but I had no input in the Marketing meetings ;p I’ll keep tabs on this one just the same as a lifelong Godzilla and other Kaiju fan.
