Sometimes I question myself about the bright idea to add touring plans to the website based on just how many there are coming up, oh wait did I say that out loud? I didn’t see you standing right there but ignore that stuff because the latest news is that Italy’s Lacuna Coil has announced their return to North America in support of their forthcoming album “Delirium”. The iconic, hard-rock Italian “gothfathers,” LACUNA COIL, will be making their much-anticipated return to North America as part of the “Delirium Worldwide” tour starting in San Francisco on May 7th. This will be their first US run in support of their much-anticipated new album Delirium, which is set for a May 27th release through Century Media Records. The first leg of the tour will feature Butcher Babies as direct support with 9Electric and Painted Wives rounding out the stellar package. The second leg will be announced in the coming weeks and will have a different band as direct support, while the rest of the touring package remains intact. Ryan Blake Folden (drums) adds: “For me, I am truly excited to get on the road and play some new material. This is the first record I got to be a part of with the band and I can’t wait to finally see people reactions to songs that I have been really excited about for over a year now. Not to mention, I’ll finally be expressing myself on stage in a way that I haven’t been able to do in some time, having up until this point performed music that predated my arrival to the band. PiercingMetal Thoughts: I think I have seen and of course enjoyed Lacuna Coil for more than a decade now and recall that the first time I ever caught them they were opening up for Type O Negative. They are an impressive and solid live act and I’m glad that they are still moving forward to entertain all their fans. The first leg is making a stop in my beautiful Brooklyn at St. Vitus and unless I am mistaken this will be the bands very first appearance at the place. I am not sure I can attend that one but if my own calendar is free its going to be a great show based on the small and intimate size of that venue. As you can see there will be no support for that show but most of the rest of the dates have Butcher Babies, 9Electric and Painted Wives along for the run. I’ve seen BB a LOT over the last couple of years but the other two are new to my musical mind. What do you readers think about this tour announcement? Let me know in the comments below.
