Just a short time ago this evening, the legendary Hard Rock group KISS, opened up the festivities for the “America’s Got Talent” Season Finale where one lucky performer will win a 1 million dollar prize and receive a headlining show in Las Vegas. The band would perform their hit “Detroit Rock City” and introduce the shows host Tyra Banks. She would in turn bring on the shows hosts Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B.

Just post the performance, host Banks approached singer Paul Stanley for a quick interview which I transcribed below as its not a part of the video that was showcased on the AGT YouTube Channel.

Banks: So you guys are heading out on your “End Of The Road” Farewell Tour. How’s that gonna feel?

Paul Stanley: Well this is going to be our last tour, it will be the most explosive, biggest show we’ve ever done. People who love us come see us. If you’ve never seen us this is the time – This will be the show….

Banks: Alright well we’re gonna make sure all you guys check that out. Thank you KISS…

PiercingMetal Thoughts: The old saying is that “all good things must come to an end” and I am afraid that after the farewell tours by Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, HIM with Slayer and Ozzy Osbourne soon to follow, that it’s time for KISS to say “We love you, Goodnight” one more time in as many cities that decide to host them. In my Top Three Bands list for the last more than a quarter century its been KISS at the top with a rotating Judas Priest and Van Halen as the second and third. With Van Halen apparently on an extended hiatus, I only have to worry about when Priest says “hey fans we’ve some news to share with you”. So that being said, I love KISS and no matter who is in the lineup in 2018, have continued to find such joy during their spectacles. I also feel it is time and that the Old Guard must continue to take their leave and let the bands that should be on the top of the Metal heap grab some ground. What about you readers? Please let me know what you think about this brief disclosure. Should a proper press release hit the mailbox about this with tour dates, I will of course be posting it.
