My fellow geeks we seem to live in a work of prequels and sequels and I cannot imagine that there are folks among your number who have never read the absolute masterpiece of “Watchmen” or even seen the film that was pretty close to the original source material. Now, the folks at HBO and Warner Brothers Television/DC Entertainment are delivering a new dramatic series which is also called “Watchmen” and will follow the world that first stuff left behind. Let’s take a look at the first teaser trailer.

The Premise: Watchmen is set in “an alternate history where ‘superheroes’ are treated as outlaws” and “embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to admit that I am curious because I loved the “Watchmen” property and every few years find myself reading the original series in its collected edition form. I also rewatch the film but that’s not as often a practice given the amount of programming that I have on my plate. I’m interested in seeing what this is all about but with “Game Of Thrones” ending in a couple of weeks and nothing else of real interest for me on HBO I am not sure that I will be able to watch it since my plan is to cancel this soon after GOT ends. Netflix has gone up in price, and Disney+ is coming and there is no way that I am bypassing that service. Only time will tell and perhaps by a longer trailer I will have changed my mind.
