The Press Release:
GODSMACK will return to the road in 2019–first with 20 shows in Europe to be followed by a North American headlining tour with Volbeat. GODSMACK will kick it off February 27 in London with Like A Storm confirmed as direct support for the six-week European trek. Next, GODSMACK will return to the U.S. where they’ll headline a U.S. run of shows with special guests VOLBEAT, along with some co-headlining shows with them in Canada. Tickets are on sale now for the European dates, with onsales set for mid-December for the North American gigs.
Earlier this year (4/27), GODSMACK released WHEN LEGENDS RISE via BMG (US) and Spinefarm (Worldwide), marking the band’s seventh studio album and their first in four years. The acclaimed 11-song collection, fueled by the Top 5 rock song and video “Bulletproof” plus the title track “When Legends Rise,” entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart in the top ten (#8), with four #1 placements on other charts: Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Music Albums, Top Independent Albums and Top Alternative Albums. WHEN LEGENDS RISE is available on CD, LP and Digital; purchase or stream it here.
On August 26, 2017, VOLBEAT became the first Danish band to headline and sell out their hometown venue, Denmark’s Telia Parken, setting the record for the biggest show by a domestic artist in Denmark ever with over 48,250 people in attendance. To commemorate and immortalize the record-breaking event, the band will release their live album and concert film, Let’s Boogie! Live From Telia Parken, on December 14th via Republic Records. **Godsmack festival appearance
*** end of transmission ***
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m going to hope that a second leg for this run gets announced on the quick because I have only ever seen Godsmack once in concert and that was during a festival thing so it wasn’t the whole nine yards that they put out there. Volbeat I’ve seen more times than I can count and I always look forward to their visits. What about you folks? What do you think of this tour announcement and are you in the regions where they will be visiting? Chime in down below in the comments because we love to hear from you on this stuff.
