Ghost Will Summon The Flock For “Unholy/Unplugged” Tour 2015

Attention minions of the flock. It was just a little while ago when my websites email account started acting up and seemed to grow increasingly darker and darker with the only message shining clear through the din was the one from the High Council regarding activities with the spooktacular Ghost. According to these writings, the group will introduce the North American territories to their new singer Papa Emeritus III by paying visit to several record outlets. New music will be performed to help increase your darker desires and there will be the chance to have a brief audience with the band as you graciously hand over money for their new masterpiece. Check out the poster and the official press release below.

Tour - Ghost - Unplugged - 2015

The Press Release:
LINKÖPING, SWEDEN – AUGUST 10, 2015 – Ghost have been summoned stateside for a procession christened the Unholy/Unplugged Tour. The five-city outing will take Papa Emeritus III and his nameless ghouls to some of the nation’s most highly regarded record selling institutions. Blessed attendees will enjoy a rare stripped down acoustic live performance of new songs followed by a signing of their new album Meliora. The occasion will mark Papa Emeritus III’s inaugural visit to the United States. See below for complete details.

I’ll continue along with the Press Release after this brief video presentation that discusses this “Unholy/Unplugged Tour. Indulge.

Ghost released their second album INFESTISSUMAM on April 16th, 2013 via Loma Vista Recordings. The 10-song offering was produced by Grammy® Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains) in Nashville, TN and debuted at #1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart. SPIN called the album, “one of the most anticipated heavy metal albums of 2013” and Pitchfork praised its “addictive as sin” hooks. Rolling Stone described their sound as “somewhere between Mastodon and Metallica, with a heavy dose of Swedish synth mixed in.” In November of 2013, the band released If You Have Ghost, a five track EP recorded and produced by Dave Grohl, including cover versions of songs by Roky Erickson, ABBA, Army of Lovers, and Depeche Mode. Ghost have toured the U.S. Extensively and appeared at various music festivals across the country, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Rock on the Range.

“The band has done more to bring blasphemous, religion-skewering devil rock to the mainstream masses than perhaps any act since Marilyn Manson rose from the swamps of Florida to declare himself the Antichrist Superstar.” – ROLLING STONE

Tour Dates:
August 18th – Silver Platters (SoDo Location) – Seattle, WA (7:00 PM)
August 20th – Amoeba – Los Angeles, CA (6:00 PM)
August 21st – ZIA (Camelback Location) – Phoenix, AZ (7:00 PM)
August 22nd – Sound Garden – Baltimore, MD (5:00 PM)
August 23rd – Rough Trade – Brooklyn, NY (2:00 PM)

PiercingMetal Thoughts: This is surely going to be something cool because Ghost already are a rather unique musical entity as it is so watching them in the enigmatic flesh doing new music in an unplugged fashion is going to help bring their cause to even large masses. With five listed dates, I am hoping that this is captured on video for those who are in no way able to attend. Allegiance can also be gained by video after all. I’m going to do my best to be one of the clamoring masses when this happening comes to pass in my wonderful Brooklyn. This will prepare many for the bands upcoming tour that will visit Terminal 5 when it hits our region in September.
