We’ve just learned that former Skid Row singer Johnny Solinger has passed away at the age of 55. Solinger served as the bands frontman from 1999 to 2015 before he was replaced by former Dragonforce singer ZP Theart. According to reports, the singer was suffering from liver failure which ultimately would win out.

“We are saddened to hear the news of our brother Johnny Solinger. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans. Godspeed Singo. Say hello to Scrappy for us. Much love, Rachel Bolan, ZP Theart, Snake Sabo, Rob Hammersmith, Scotti Hill”
The photo used in our memorial reflection comes from the night when the Skid Row band performed at Eddie Trunks birthday bash. They were great and I felt that he delivered on all fronts with the classic Skids tunes. I knew a lot of people who were adamant about Bach being gone from the lineup but at that point in time Solinger had been in the group for seven years and it was very unlikely that he was going anywhere soon. Though I only ever got to see him performing once in this capacity I felt he was an energetic and engaging singer. It’s sad to find him passing away at such a young age and I am sure that this leaves the fans he had made very very said. We extend the most heartfelt condolences to the Solinger family during this time and say thank you for the music you gave us Mr. Solinger, may you Rest In Peace.
