The other day I was able to attend the first ever NYC edition of the Liberty City Anime Con which was held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square hotel. I was interested in seeing what it was all about but I will be the first to tell you that I don’t know all that much about the Anime part of geekdom. I applaud the fans and all the colorful cosplay that they bring to life so I was hoping to get a lot of great photos and learn something in the process. Let’s get started with our first chapter and since I don’t know a lot of the characters I will leave these installments to mostly visual offerings. Here we go with a stunning Lady Deadpool.
I was surprised to find The Eradicator at this convention because this outfit struck me as more of an NYCC sort of thing.
I was told that this is the Tokyo Ghoul character and he is creepy as all get out.
This is “One Punch Man” and hence him attempting to punch me out.
As you might have expected, the convention had a room where all of the vendors were stationed. I took a pop over to there for a short visit to snag more images for here and for Instagram.
You cannot ever escape the Funko Pops. The ones on sale here today are mostly Anime related so if you are looking for particular ones you might want to ask friends who are coming the next time to shop for you.
This is Dokudel, a popular cosplayer from the scene of such events. She had a table with photos and other items for sale.
Okay so that will bring me to the close of my first chapter for this convention. I’m going to do these the same way that I do the NY Comic Con ones and serve up about “50” images apiece until I run out of them. I hope that works for you since its a lot easier to me to make sure everyone who is presented in the photos will find themselves and be able to say “hey that’s me everyone!”. I’ve also loaded up a bunch of slightly different photos to our Official Instagram which you can find, follow and bring that great love to by clicking HERE. See you shortly with another installment.
An Update: In 2021, we added a video photo gallery from this convention to our Official YouTube Channel. We hope that fans of these experiences enjoy this kind of presentation. We ask that you like the video, subscribe to the Channel and click the notification bell to be aware of all the upcoming content.
