Exploring The 10th Annual “Sweet Suite” @ Chelsea Piers

Hello again my friends and welcome to something awesome. Now, you might recall my mentioning that I’ve been in attendance at the Toy Insider’s events for the last few years and while we ran into them all at the annual Toy Fair, the last media happening was with their 2018 “Holiday Of Play” (documented HERE in case you missed it). Now that the summer was here it was time for their biggest soiree the “Sweet Suite” which was once again being held at Chelsea Piers #60. This marks my fourth straight Sweet Suite event and while the larger group of products I see will be featured on “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”, all of the Pop Culture geek stuff will be presented here. Let’s take a look shall we. First up were a whole bunch of awesome cosplayers. I believe this crew referred to themselves as “The New York Avengers” and I don’t think that I need to name the heroes and villains represented here.

The Pop Culture element of the “Sweet Suite” event has been upgraded since The Toy Insider launched a new presence known as The Pop Insider. I discussed this new outlet for geeks on THIS LINK on “The Chronicles” so do please check it out when you have time. Now its onto the offerings from the folks at Boss Fight Studio. They have some cool action figures coming out so let’s see what I mean.

Our friends at LEGO Systems had come cool stuff as always but not as big a display as we’ve seen them put out in the past. This year they were just showcasing a few select items.

These robots are really cool as well. I’d love to tackle building one of these at some point. I just don’t have the sufficient patience lately for such things. I also feel that I would drop a piece or two and my beloved feline would get them into the negative zone where all her other toys that I’ve never seen again are.

As a close to lifelong fan of all things Batman, I can safely say that I want this Batmobile and its minifigs.

Lastly we have the folks from FYE which means “For Your Entertainment” in case you weren’t sure. To my knowledge this was the groups first ever attendance to a Toy Insider event. It was nice to see them as I usually encounter them at the NY Comic Con. They brought a small group of products and a few were of big interest to me.

Did you know that Funko made cereal? It’s really a cereal and it comes with a cool prize. This box is based on the legendary group KISS and showcases The Demon (aka Gene Simmons). As you might expect the fact that this is KISS related makes it something that I must get my hands on. If I do that maybe I will do one of those eating videos for our YouTube Channel since they are becoming all the rage these days.

That brings me to the end of this part of the “Sweet Suite” 2019 presentations on this side of the fence. Be sure to head over to “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken in the coming days to see the rest of the fun. Remember to click-thru to some of the websites linked below and to follow/like/share the work that we bring to the table on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I will see you again soon.
