Hey gang, its nice to see you once again. I’m going to keep my intro short since there is plenty of work to post today but we are indeed at another chapter of the NY Comic Con 2017 coverage. Part 5 will be the last of the stuff from the Day One adventures and if you’ve missed any of the posts that preceded this one, just click on THIS LINK as it will open a battery of content for you. Let’s get a move on with these two lovely cosplayers.
I think the late great David Bowie would be impressed with this cosplay of the Goblin King.
I decided to putter about in the Artist Alley as I was looking for a friend. I’m almost at the end of this days adventure so let’s hit some tables. Most of the names are listed but I will chime in if they are not.
Noted scribe Peter David.

Matt Miner was here but wasn’t at the very same time so I just snapped some photos of his “Gwar: Orgasmegeddon” comic book. My local retailer didn’t stock this book because a lot of the independent titles don’t really sell there. It happens, so as result I still need to peruse these issues. I hope to soon.
Guillermo Ortega had a stunning Elektra cosplayer guarding his booth. We made sure to address her with extreme caution.
Since we still had some room in this post and its our closing one for the Day One features, I’ve decided to add in the candid shots that I did with some of the people that I felt like photos with.
Below you will find some visuals of the takeaways that I snagged today. I’ll start with the buttons that I found over at the DC Comics pavilion. I am a big button fan and always try to take one or three extras to give to friends once the convention is over.
These buttons were from the Dynamite Comics booth. I love the Mighty Mouse the most even if Red Sonja and Bettie Page are quite awesome.
Now this was a terrific and fun idea. Patrons were able to sport either of these buttons to announce that it was their first convention or whatever one it actually was. I decided to be playful with mine and made a big “?” in the space and let those I talked to take a guess. It was NY Comic Con #8 for me. Go figure.
Oh and before I forget. Earlier in the Day One posts, I showcased the Schick Hydrobot. Well, that encounter leads to a fun installment on “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”. Just click on the image to be transported over to that site and story.
Well, that is it and we are officially done with the Day One offerings. Please stay tuned for the Day Two stuff which will begin running shortly. Remember that during the course of the convention postings that I will be very active on our social networks so if you aren’t following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you’ll want to get on point. We’d love to have you along with us in this sense if you cannot attend the convention or have friends who are dressed up. I also encourage supporting the website links below from the awesome folks that were discussed in this chapter.

An Update: In 2020, I began using our Official YouTube Channel a lot more and created gallery clips for our New York Comic Con content. Here is the Day One video from the 2017 Convention which was created as a scroll back in time. Please be sure to subscribe to this channel and like/comment on the video to help it grow.
