Well would you look at this, its once again time for the NY Comic Con, and it has taken over the hearts and minds of all the city’s Geek Community and rightly so. This massive event not only dominates the Javits Center nowadays but also holds numerous panels at both the Hammerstein Ballroom and The Theatre at Madison Square Garden if those sorts of things interest you. I’m proud to share that 2017’s event marks my eighth straight year in attendance and my seventh as a member of the accredited press. I’m going to start with the photos in the area that is usually taken over by the folks at DC Entertainment. In the past they’ve showcased a number of Superman costumes and stuff from “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice”. This year they were displaying the costumes on life size mannequins from the upcoming “Justice League” film. Let’s take a look. I am pretty sure that you know who these characters are.
I do love these displays but I also feel that they need to hang a curtain behind them during the day since its almost impossible to see based on the amount of sunlight that comes beaming into this space.
Now I will be heading into “The Block” and just snapping random stuff with the occasion focus in a little larger sense. I’ve began my journey here for a couple of years now and really like to get this section locked in before going into the madness that is the Main Expo Floor.
Our first Cosplayer photo of the 2017 convention is this awesome Ms. Marvel. I wonder if we will ever find her appearing in a major film. Perhaps in time.
Hey wait a second is this Toy Fair or NY Comic Con? 🙂 It was awesome to see the smiling faces of Playmobil at the convention because they had some awesome things to sell the attendees and the highlight had to be the amazing “Ghostbusters” Ecto-1 and firehouse playset. Check it out.
Also in The Block were the folks from Super7 who we discussed during our Toy Fair adventures earlier in the year. They have a number of awesome action figures and miniatures with the coolest by far for me being Iron Maiden’s “Eddie”. Right now there are only four different ones to choose from but according to the company lead Brian, there are more heading our way.
They even made Iron Maiden Eddie “muscle men”. Somewhere in a box in my storage bin are a couple of bags of these little figurines. Well, NOT the Eddie ones since they are new.
Two variations on the Misfits “Fiend” are seen here along with Nosferatu and Alfred Hitchcock. I just love the ReAction Figures line. They remind me of my original “Star Wars” figures.
Sadly, Coqui The Chef was unavailable when we were passing by. NYCC gets so crowded that its often difficult to return to a place a second time once you have gotten deeper into the event.
Here are our friends with “A Piggy’s Tale”, this is a charming comic book series about a handi-capable Super-Pup named Piggy.
That’s Todd Emko with Piggy in case you wondered. Always nice to see them at NYCC.
Behold the Game Church folks.
We always love seeing the Tentacle Kitty stuff. I need to purchase a black one for my own household. I’ll be back.
The Tick has a brand new show on Amazon that you can enjoy if you are a subscriber. This giant ship gives fans a look at what is to come. The line was too long for me to do that so no inside visuals.
This dangerous lassie is non other than a DC Bombshells Harley Quinn. She marks my first HQ of the 2017 Con, and makes me wonder just how many more will become a part of my exploration narratives. Maybe we should have a contest about that. What do you think?
The deadly Chucky was protecting these lovely nurses.
The “Justice League” film is coming out in a few weeks and it was nice to see Aquaman and Mera wandering the convention.
Here’s a “Suicide Squad” Harley Quinn. That makes “2” by my count but you guys will not be getting any more help from me if you are choosing to keep count.
A faraway glance of the DC Comics pavilion. They always have a number of cool comic book and button giveaways so I will be returning here across the span of convention days to secure some stuff to give to friends.
I’m going to wrap this chapter up at this point and continue along with another installment tomorrow. As most of the diehard supporters know, I generally keep to no more than 50 images with each chapter to allow for easier visual digestion and to give you a better focus on the people discussed above. Remember that during the course of the convention postings that I will be very active on our social networks so if you aren’t following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you’ll want to get on point. We’d love to have you along with us in this sense if you cannot attend the convention or have friends who are dressed up. I also encourage supporting the website links below from the awesome folks that were discussed in this chapter.
