Well hello again my Convention Adventuring Fellow Geeks, I’m back with another chapter of my comprehensive exploration of the 2018 New York Comic Con. You’ve arrived at Chapter 3 of the Day One findings and if you’re just joining us on the website you’re going to want to click HERE to open a new tab with all of the posts that have gone live on the website so far. Generally speaking its better to start at the beginning with these since I often refer back to other points as I explore. I’ll start this chapter with some finds in The Block such as this table of UNICEF comics. They were free to the public while supplies lasted and I made sure to take some for the younger relatives in my circle.
Now these should be some familiar visuals as its the booth occupied by the folks behind “A Piggy’s Tale”. Piggy is a rescue pup that sports a costume and protects those who need him. Sadly, he was not present at the convention this year as he was dealing with a medical issue. Get well soon Piggy your fans want to see you again.
Toy Tokyo had a booth and they were selling all sorts of limited edition collectibles. I love the uniqueness in their brand.
Here’s the gorgeous Shantel Knight aka “Zombae”. We’ve met her at a few conventions before and she is a dynamite cosplayer.
There was royalty in The Block as Her Majesty The Queen of the Realm from Medieval Times was present. I didn’t seek audience but managed to wave hello to her approval.
Here’s our friend Nicoline Evans, the author of what appears to be more than a dozen Young Reader tomes at this point. I always love seeing Nikki and this time around promised I would bring her some cool cosplayers. One cannot generally get away from the booth when there is product to sign and sell.
I’ll end this chapter now but check this out, I still have enough photos to post to get one more installment from Day One in place. Isn’t that awesome (I know that you are nodding your head about that). Before you head onto the next thing that interests you on the web, I encourage you to click through to some of the websites that are linked below so you can learn more about the people and companies showcased in this chapter. I also hope that you’ll come lend some love to our Official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts because I’d love for you to be along for the adventures as they happen. See you next time.
Update: In 2021 a video photo gallery was uploaded to the Official PiercingMetal YouTube Channel to help build up the content there and to offer fans of the New York Comic Con a different way to enjoy the presentation. This clip is from Day One of our 2018 explorations. We ask site visitors to subscribe to the channel, click the notification bell and leave a comment and like the video to allow for more milestones to be reached.
