Hello again my fine-feathered convention geek friends. Welcome back to my in-depth wanderings of the Five Points Festival. We’re now up to the fourth and final chapter in this presentation and in this one I will be finishing up with the photographs that I shot over the course of the Saturday session of the event. I’m going to start this chapter with some more of the wonderful Designer Toys that we walked past.
These are some interesting new variations on the legendary “Outer Space Men”. I used to have the original set but they are long gone to the sands of time. Sigh.
Hey it’s Todd Comics! We’ve known him for years from hitting Comic Con and now he has a title of his own.
Here’s Brian of Super7 – We met at the 2017 Toy Fair convention and they have a whole lot of awesome coming out during the year in addition to what I have shared here. Check it out.
Since we are at the close of this latest adventure, I decided to share some of the candid shots with the folks that I met along the way. I don’t always remember to add those visuals in our narratives so let’s do that right now. Here is my fellow media buddy Champion Hamilton, he is a photographer and runs “Champion Eye Media” in case you needed him.
With famous Pop Artist John Holmstrom.
He is Rob Bruce.
You’ve met the great Ron English in some of my narratives over the years. It’s always good to see him at the conventions.
There were some wonderful food trucks for the patrons to choose from and I was crazing a Mac n Cheese so got this one with buffalo styled shredded chicken. It was super yummy. They also had beer for sale but I didn’t feel like one today and bypassed them.
So there you have it, the Five Points Festival in a visual nutshell. After exploring this all day I think that I saw all that I needed to see so I was not going to return on the Sunday session. I did regret not attending the Designer Toy Awards the previous night but I was otherwise occupied and one cannot be everywhere no matter what the desire. I give this event a “two thumbs up” and hope that it manages to return next year as well. As you might have noticed, there were next to none when it came to the cosplaying and a few of the people that I spoke to over the course of the day said that they loved that. Their gripe was that at the other conventions, you cannot move around since a Deadpool or a Harley Quinn is doing an on the spot photo op and it gets annoying. Love the cosplayers as much as I do I can see their side of it as well. I hope that you enjoyed the posts about this event and that you will take a click over to our Official Instagram and give it a “Follow” and some likes to the images. Those pics are usually different from the ones I place on the website. As we close up I’ll suggest that you click some of the homepage links down below since they are there for a good reason.
Editor’s Update: In 2021 I served up some convention flashback photo galleries and our first experience at Five Points Festival was added to these features. Please enjoy the video and be sure to subscribe to the channel and click the notification bell so you don’t miss anything going forward.
