When we met last time, I was just arriving at some of the “Super Powers” action figure line from McFarlane Toys. I’m continuing along with the awesome discoveries in their booth so let’s keep on going.
Many of the McFarlane Toys “Super Powers” line are revisits to the original lin of figures but they kept on expanding them and bringing awesome new characters to the market.
When McFarlane Toys started delivering a gamut of DC Direct action figures. There are too many favorites for me to decide from but I can say if you’re a Batman collector, they have a whole universe of supporting characters for you.
You are not seeing things here and are indeed looking at both Superman and Batman dealing with the threat of Godzilla and Kong. They all starred in a fun comic series “Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong”. Did you manage to get that one when it was on the racks?
I keyed into the animated series version of Batman. I used to religiously watch the cartoon as a child. This was before the stuff on “Super Friends” to my knowledge but my timing might be messed up since I was a kid and cannot recall everything from back then too clearly.
As you can see there are a wide variety here and I opted for broader shots for the most part over one on one on one shots. There’s “Batman Beyond” and “Captain Carrot”. Loved both of those characters.
I absolutely loved “Batman The Animated Series” and watched it religiously. I remember that I even used to record every episode on VHS cassette tapes. Don’t roll your eyes at me as a lot of people did that stuff back then. This assortment was awesome. I see The Creeper and Phantasm in the mix.
The Page Punchers are a really cool idea but I don’t see many of these out in the wild. They are a comic book and a 3″ action figure. Great sculpts as well but with limited articulation. I’d like to get a couple of these, especially Batman.
These are the MODS. They are sculpted vinyl figures. Not really my thing but I know folks would love them if their favorite character is represented.
A nice number of superhero figures and comic book set. Todd is not playing games with delivering your classic favorites.
Here’s an interesting set. A pivotal scene from the “Joker” movie. It was pretty intense for sure and the film was very good. It’s sequel, not too much….
Now onto some Spawn stuff. Where it all began for McFarlane Toys. Sorry for the double shot. When I was naming and uploading these I felt I had a slightly different perspective. I guess I need to wear my glasses more than I do.
Todd McFarlane himself leads the charge in this run of action figures, highly detailed and articulated and just hella awesome.
I’m not exactly sure how this can be an action figure but maybe I was confused and its a statue. Either way this is like a comic book page coming to life. Such a dramatic figure.
McFarlane Toys now has the license to release some statues of several Marvel Comics favorites and many of them are representative of a particular piece of art. You’re only getting this single shot because I’m up to my limit here.
I’ll wrap this installment up now because I hit my personally preferred cap but I am stoked to let you know that I have one more installment to share from McFarlane Toys. I hope that you can contain your excitement until I’m back tomorrow morning with that one.
