Check out the full press release and dates below the poster and then I’ll return with some additional thoughts on it.

The Press Release:

Front man Joe Elliott says, “We’re thrilled to be able to take this tour to cities we didn’t play in 2016. The demand for us to return, or rather extend the tour was phenomenal! There’s a great buzz around the band right now and we’re loving the fact that we can do this with the latest album being so well received.”

In conjunction with the announcement of their North American tour, Def Leppard also premieres the live video for “Animal” via Brave Words. Click here to view, we encourage you to post and share! The live video clip is from the bands recently announced concert film, And There Will Be A Next Time – Live From Detroit which will be released on February 10th in partnership with Eagle Rock Entertainment. Most recently, their 2015 self-titled album featured singles “Dangerous” and “Let’s Go” which premiered via and hit #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart.

The tour also marks the first time in over 5 years that Poison will tour with all original members. Members including Bret Michaels, CC DeVille, Bobby Dall and Rikki Rockett. Poison has sold over 40 million records and is is set to perform some of its greatest hits including Nothin’ but a Good Time, Every Rose has its Thorn, Talk Dirty to Me, Unskinny Bop and Something to Believe In.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I just love the idea of these three bands touring together because I have been fans of all three of them for decades. I still remember hunting for a copy of “On Through The Night” in the West Village in a memory from forever ago and while Poison and Tesla were NOT up my alley on the first listens I eventually came around and enjoyed their sounds for the level of Rock and Roll electricity that it was. I wouldn’t catch either of those two until I became a scribe but even many years later was blown away by the delivery. The last time I saw Def Leppard was the tour with KISS back in 2012 I think, or was that the 2014 one? I forget but either way they kicked some ass and their early albums are still spun on my now virtual turntable of converted to digital format stuff. Legendary Hard Rock and Metal classics for sure. Now with the full original Poison lineup you know the party is going to start nice and early and dare I say it’s going to be “Nothin’ But A Good Time” oh wait, they said that above somewhere already. I admit that I am a little surprised about the lack of a more proper NYC show with us having The Garden and The Barclays Center or even the wonderful Prudential Center but with the show for my side of the fence being in Long Island, I get to check out the newly renovated Nassau Coliseum. I think this will be the first Heavy Rock/Metal show to take place in the new phase of its existence. I’m also looking forward to the new live video release from Eagle Rock. They’ve done such an amazing job on their recent Rainbow, Motley Crue and KISS releases that this is a surefire inclusion to anyone’s music collection. What do you readers think about this tour? Is it something you will see? Let me know in the comments section below. See you next time.
