From original creator and comic book writer Geoff Johns (executive producer of “Titans”, “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” and “The Flash”), DC’S STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska after her mother remarries Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) and inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The live-action superhero drama reimagines the 1999 Stargirl comics and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. DC’S STARGIRL is lovingly inspired by Johns’ late sister, who was killed in a plane accident.

WHEN: DC UNIVERSE’S DC’S STARGIRL will premiere on Monday, May 18, in advance of The CW broadcast on Tuesday, May 19.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As a dedicated viewer to all of the currently running “Arrowverse” shows I’m very curious about this new series since it’s got a few interesting characters joining the DC Television Universe. I guess with “Arrow” having ended we can’t actually call this stuff the “Arrowverse” anymore can we? As a close to lifer fan of the comic book medium, I was a big fan of the Justice Society Of America or the JSA as one of their more recent series labeled them. Since many of the Stargirl characters are members of this team this show will be something I am programming onto the DVR. I have room for more shows since my “Arrow”, “IZombie”, “Criminal Minds” and “Preacher” are finished. So I have to add that I am happy that this will be airing on both The CW as well as their DC Universe streaming service. I was a member of said service for a few months but since I didn’t have a player other than my mobile did not find the experience all that compelling. I did watch all of the “Titans” episodes and that was excellent but with so many other monthly bills and this time of financial uncertainty, I just couldn’t carry another month of this to watch “Swamp Thing” and “Doom Patrol”. Maybe when all of this settles down I will give it another month and catch up with those and the “Harley Quinn” animated series. What do you think of the idea of this show? Are you excited? Chime in down below in the comments. See you next time.
