Though the news about this coming to pass had been circulating for over a year now since first being announced, yesterday was the day that the ID badges and the keys were returned as DC Comics closed its New York City offices for good and headed to their new headquarters in Burbank, California. The comic book publishing company had been a part of the Big Apple since its formation over 75 years ago and their Official Facebook cited the following thoughts from the managerial hierarchy:
“DC Comics has been part of New York City – and vice versa – for decades. As we prepare to complete the move to our Burbank headquarters we want to thank the people of New York and all those who have worked in the office there for being an important part of our history. It’s never easy to say goodbye but we are excited about the future and everything it holds.”
As many readers already know we’ve been doing comic book overviews and analysis for several years now and resultant of that we were often up at the offices of the company snagging provisions or doing some networking to bring you a better understanding and experience about the characters and their vast titles. Below you can find a bunch of photos that were snagged by the PiercingMetal Smartphone while on these visits and I hope you enjoy them.
On behalf of the PiercingMetal brand I’d like to wish all of the wonderful people that I met over the years at DC Comics the very best in their future’s whether they have gone off to the new HQ or have opted to follow other paths in their lives. Thanks for helping me to bring the awesome DC Universe characters to our readers here on the site.
