DC Comics First Issues Coming In August 2016

Welcome to August my comic loving friends and I hope that the summer has been treating you well so far. Can you believe that we are almost done with it? Before you blink, September is going to be here and it’s back to school for the readers who are doing that and more focus on the workaday world for the folks that enjoyed some quality break time during the summer months. I’m starting our comic book solicitations narratives with the stuff coming out from DC Comics this month because we are going to find the movie “Suicide Squad” opening up at the end of the week. This will be the third film in the growing DC Extended Universe and there are plenty of titles with characters from the film on the stands this month. We posted the films “Blitz Trailer” some weeks ago which you can see HERE if you missed it. As before I’m using the provided to the media press copy and artwork to bring all of this coolness to your attention. I’ll return at the close to offer up some additional personal Geek opinion. Here we go, and believe me you will want a new coffee or water for this since there are quite a few titles to line out. Please remember that these are for across the whole month and have not been broken down into a week by week availability.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Wow that is a lot of titles and I think that I am going to need a bigger box if I plan on continuing to purchase the first issues of this new “DC Universe: Rebirth” scenario. I’m also going to need a few extra bucks so any of you readers that need some assistance with some normal tasks of your day for a reasonable sum should give me a shout LOL. Luckily a lot of the DC Comics titles returned to a $2.99 a copy price point which makes this a little easier on the wallet. So which ones am I most excited for you might be wondering? Well, simply put I like most of these with the exception of the Blue Beetle and the Gotham Academy so while I might be picking up the first issue I don’t think I will be keeping up with the series. I realize that one of these is an annual but I am speaking more of the monthly that it stems from. I have to say that I am enjoying quite a few of the “Rebirth” titles and that their structures and storylines are reaching me better than more than half of “The New 52” did when that initiative was first introduced. Those readers who love nothing more than a brand new first issue in their collection are probably besides themselves given the amount that they get to add to their forever stash. Don’t forget to check out “Suicide Squad” when it opens if you are a fan of these types of films and oh yeah, before I forget to mention. In the event that you’re one of our new readers, I showcased both the Wonder Woman Trailer and Justice League Footage that was unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con. You can enjoy those trailers by clicking the bolded type in this sentence. Let me know what you think of these new releases in the comments section below and I will see you with more in the coming days.
