Have you managed to recover from the multiple issue craziness that was Convergence”? Well, as you might have surmised the DC Comics Universe was left a drastically changed one as a result. The New 52 as we knew it seems to be half in place with some titles returning to publishing while others are gone and have been replaced with a host of other new titles. As usual I am sharing provided press and cover artwork and will close out with my own views on these titles. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Now before I opine my thoughts please remember that this is the whole batch of new first-issues for June and they’ve been set up alphabetically for ease of mental digestion. Some of these have already come out this past Wednesday and the rest will follow suit across the month. So what do I think of these new offerings? Well, for starters there are a few titles that are interesting to me and those fall to the two “Justice League” titles of “JLoA” and JL3K” along with “Batman Beyond”, “Dr. Fate” and the “Harly Quinn and Power Girl” title. I am not too sure how I view a teen transforming into Doomsday in “Doomed”. It makes me think of the old cartoon that had its youthful character yelling “thing ring do your thing” but that was a Marvel Comics property anyway. “Bat-Mite” and “Bizarro” were always fun story enhancers for me but can they carry their own title even if they are only mini-series? Who knows. Its nice to see “Starfire” used a little more seriously than we found her in “Red Hood and The Outlaws” over the recent years. I think that “Black Canary” and “Constantine” could be hits based on their recent televised adventures but I don’t feel the same for “Prez” and “We Are Robin”. What do you readers think? Will you be picking up any of these issues or are you bypassing them. Let me know what you think in the comments.
