It was that time of the year again for the always amazing “Sweet Suite” event that comes care of the fine folks at the Toy Insider. According to my notes, I’ve been attending Toy Insider happenings since 2016 and I look forward to it each and every time. This year I’ve decided to post the coverage a little differently since while some things are best served up here on PiercingMetal, there are also a number of amazing products that I can feature over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. Let’s start off with some visuals from the Playmates Toys booth.
I’ll begin with what they had from their “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” line. Some of you might have already seen a couple of these items from “The Play Date” event where I did a product overview video with them but some items are new for the season. I love the smaller figures and plan on getting myself a set soon. I still have the original action figures from long, long ago in a box somewhere.
Lucky for all of the attendees this afternoon, a couple of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themselves decided to make an appearance. That’s Michelangelo and Raphael of course and hey if you didn’t happen to see the video that I mentioned in the opening, just head over to the Official PiercingMetal YouTube to watch it by clicking HERE. Playmates Toys also had some great stuff from their “Miraculous Ladybug” line of products. These would normally be posted on our other site but I wanted to leave all the Playmates Toys things in this post on PiercingMetal this time around. Take a look.
Now earlier in the post you saw a couple of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles joining in on the fun and as luck would have it, the Miraculous Ladybug was also in attendance for the “Sweet Suite”. I don’t know how they got her since she is always fighting some kind of injustice around the globe with Catnoir. I actually did a short video with her which will post to the YouTube Channel for Piercing Ken. The photos are here since I was building a bit of a superhero narrative.
Bandai was at the Toy Insider “Sweet Suite” as well, and had a super busy table. There were a few different products presented but since we focus on the more action figure stuff here on PiercingMetal that is what I snapped. I am only a casual Anime fan despite my regular attendance to the Anime NYC convention so many of these character offerings while cool, are a little lost on me. I do prefer the European Bandai releases of “Godzilla” and their Gundam line since we love monsters and robots a lot more. Still very good stuff and always happy to talk about them.
With such colorful characters in attendance at the “Sweet Suite” I just had to snag a photo with both of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Miraculous Ladybug.
