CBS All Access is the exclusive streaming service from the popular network and has so far given us series such as “Star Trek: Discovery” and “The Twilight Zone” and now they are introducing another chapter in the “Star Trek” mythology with “Star Trek: Picard”. The first teaser for this series recently surfaced and is being presented for you down below along with some light premise and casting. Take a look.
The Premise: The series is set 20 years after Jean-Luc Picard’s last appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002), and finds the character deeply affected by the destruction of Romulus as depicted in the film Star Trek (2009).
Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard
Santiago Cabrera as the pilot of Picard’s ship
Michelle Hurd as a former intelligence officer
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Before I continue let me first state that I am not a subscriber to the service and don’t see myself doing so anytime soon. According what I’ve read, the limited commercials service costs Amazon Prime subscribers $5.99 a month while the spot free version is $9.99 a month and this all comes on top of your existing cable bill and any additional services you might currently have. My cable bill is high thanks to Spectrum and their exorbitant fees and I am carrying a Netflix and Hulu subscription as well. When Disney+ goes live I will be getting that based on all the programming I am fond of and while I love the superhero stuff I couldn’t see adding the DC Universe service to the mix. It’s all just too much and I feel a lot of this is going to come to a head soon enough. Closing up I wonder if the coming of “Star Trek: Picard” has generated any interest in signing up for the service. Chime in down below.
