Back in September, I shared the Official Trailer for the third season of “Star Trek: Discovery” which can be viewed HERE in the event that you missed it. Now, with the NYCC Metaverse underway in place of the annual New York Comic Con (sobbing), the first few minutes of the season premiere have been revealed. You can enjoy that and more down below. Take a look.
The Premise: Beginning roughly ten years before the events of Star Trek: The Original Series, the show sees the Klingon houses become united in a war with the United Federation of Planets that heavily involves the crew of the USS Discovery (NCC-1031). In the second season, after the war has ended, Discovery investigates seven mysterious signals and a strange figure known as the “Red Angel”. This conflict ends with the Discovery travelling to the 32nd century, more than 900 years into their future.
The Cast and Characters:
Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham
Doug Jones as Saru
Shazad Latif as Voq/Ash Tyler
Anthony Rapp as Paul Stamets
Mary Wiseman as Sylvia Tilly
Jason Isaacs as Gabriel Lorca
Wilson Cruz as Hugh Culber
Anson Mount as Christopher Pike
David Ajala as Cleveland “Book” Booker
PiercingMetal Thoughts: This season sure looks to be exciting but as I’ve already mentioned I am not a subscriber. I just can’t justify another server on top of the Netflix, HBO, Showtime and Disney+ in addition to the already far too pricey cable and Internet bill. I do think actor David Ajala will be a good fit to the season as I liked him as Manchester Black in the “Supergirl” series. What did you Trekkies in the readership think about this clip? Are you even more excited for the new season and more importantly has this firmed up an interest in those of you who don’t subscribe yet? Chime in down below in the comments section and remember that the episodes will begin streaming on October 15th. See you next time.
