Though I’m sure that you know his often sonic register from being a founding member of “The Hottest Band In The World” KISS, you might not be aware of the soulful side of lead singer Paul Stanley. Introducing Paul Stanley’s Soul Station where we find the Starchild unmasked and together with a solid ensemble of players brings the listener back to the dynasty that was the seventies Soul music. Check out their premiere video for “O-o-h Child”; a song originally delivered by The Five Stairsteps.
Just as I was wondering what I was possibly going to share with the readership next came the alert about the brand new face of Ghost in Papa Emeritus IV who joined forces with The Hellacopters to deliver a stunning cover of the Rolling Stones “Sympathy For The Devil”. Apparently this was done for the Pa Sparet television game show that has broadcast in Sweden since 1987. Let’s take a look at the clip down below. Enjoy.
What else can be said about the year 2020 that hasn’t either been mumbled under ones face-protection wearing mask or screamed aloud in frustration once you’re safely in the confines of your home when you can take such a thing off your person. The guys in Steel Panther have tossed their hat into the mix with the new song “Fuck 2020” which has a video as well so you can check that out down below.
About The Video: This year has been fucking tough on everyone. We hope you enjoy the new song. It has become an anthem for the band – and not just because we wrote it. Please join us in telling 2020 to suck our collective dick.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: It’s without question that 2020 has been a horrible year for many of us and outside of the cancellation of shows and meetups and conventions, its also taken far too many people because of the virus and otherwise. This video was a lot of laughs but remember this is a no-nonsense time to be vigilant and cautious. I miss doing the things that I love to do quite a lot but there is no choice but to ride out the storm and wait for this all to pass. Right now our lives are mostly existing in the Internet with virtual conventions, concerts and live streams but this is better than nothing at all. We can also call each other in videos and do those Zoom calls and in WhatsApp and Skype so get used to it if you haven’t already. 2020 is over in a few weeks but is the aspect of it going to flow into 2021? You bet your sweet bippy it is. Be safe out there my friends, and keep some distance, isolate when possible for the safety of others and wear a face protection when among the masses. I’d like everyone I know to be around for the real time stuff. Oh yeah and if you want to talk about this funny video just chime in down in the comments section below. See you next time.
The sad loss of the great Eddie Van Halen still resonates hard in the hearts of his millions of fans and that pain is even greater in the heart of his son, Wolfgang Van Halen. Born into a musically gifted family, Wolfie was schooled from infancy by a true master of many instruments and now presents to the world a piece of solo music and a video that will truly find you reaching for a box of Kleenex. Behold “Distance”…
About The Video: “As my pop continued to struggle with various health issues, I was imagining what my life would be like without him and how terribly I’d miss him. While the song is incredibly personal, I think anyone can relate to the idea of having a profound loss in their life. I never intended ‘Distance’ to be the very first piece of music people would hear from me, but I also thought my father would be here to celebrate its release. This is for him. I love and miss you, Pop.” – WVH
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I really don’t have too much to add in terms of my “thoughts” on such a clip because its both heart-warming and heart-wrenching at the very same time. I loved the use of the home movies showing the family arriving home together for the first time and seeing the joy on everyone’s face and also the interaction between father and son. The song itself is a solid number and one that leaves me curious on how the rest of the stuff to come will be. Wolfie has a nice voice as a lead and I can share that he played all of the instruments on the track as well. Nice work and I hope you play this until the very end because the final piece will most likely knock you for a loop. Best of luck to Wolfgang on his continued musical efforts, you now have one of the greatest champions for music rooting for you in the Great Beyond. Stay safe my friends and call your folks if its possible to do so. I know I am….
The Coronavirus Pandemic has really put a dent in everyone’s way of life and often in the most aggregious of ways. Thanks to its infiltration our health, livelihoods and passions that take us away from it all have been placed in jeopardy. It’s during a time like this that people crave new music to remind them of more pleasurable times while we continue to ride the storm. That said, its great to find a new music video coming care of the Deftones and I’ve embedded the clip for “Ohms” down below for your enjoyment. I’ll return with some personal thoughts afterward. Enjoy.
