Spring has sprung my friends and the tour announcements and awesome regional gigs have stepped into high gear. One of the awesome shows on the docket is the appearance of the legendary guitarist Ace Frehley over at the Sony Hall.
The Details: Now I don’t really think that I need to tell you much about the great Ace Frehley but if you have just arrived from another planet or have been on a secret mission in the Hollow Earth let me point out that he was a founding member of the legendary KISS and for the last couple of decades has been serving up music in a vibrant solo career. I’m sure everyone has his 1978 solo album which is a bit of a masterpiece to me and now he is out supporting his latest effort “10,000 Volts”. His shows will excite both the real guitarists and the air ones from start to finish and now thanks to the fine folks in the Marketing Department of the Blue Note Entertainment Group, PiercingMetal will be giving away a few tickets to his upcoming show at Sony Hall.
The 2024 Year in Live Music is already off to a good start and this continues into February with some solid shows like the upcoming Sony Hall gig by the legendary Mr. Big who are out on their “Big Finish” tour.
The Details: Mr. Big was truly a powerhouse of a band when they first came onto the scene in 1988. The combined musical prowess of singer Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan and the drumming of the late Pat Torpey, there were far too many amazing tracks to choose from. While the band returned after a hiatus in 2009 and have continued on with recordings and live music. The sad passing of Torpey in 2018 finds the band employing the talents of Nick D’Virgilio on their farewell tour with the banner “The Big Finish”. Thanks to the marketing team of the Blue Note Entertainment Group, PiercingMetal is going to be putting a few of their readers into the Sony Hall show.
If you are thinking that the sheer amount of concerts happening one after the other is almost impossible to keep up with then you wouldn’t be wrong about it. As we’ve already pointed out, the city keeps on climbing back to a more normal status and the entertainment industry is rallying hard to put these amazing bands back on the stages around us. One of the latest crushing Metal shows to come our way is from Sweden’s Katatonia who recently signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records.
The Details: Katatonia is truly a band of experts when it comes to bringing intense levels of melancholy and atmosphere to their music and of course their live shows. I’ve caught them a number of times over the years and have been impressed each and every time. Their most recent album is entitled “City Burials” and the upcoming “Sky Void Of Stars” will release in 2023. They will be hitting the Sony Hall with The Ocean Collective and Cellar Darling and thanks to the fine folks at Blue Note Entertainment a few of the Metal masses will be enjoying this show for free. Read more below on how this works. Continue reading Win A Ticket For Katatonia @ Sony Hall on 11/11/2022→
The city continues to rise from the pains of the pandemic and amazing artists are returning to the venues to perform for their fans at a record pace which is a fantastic thing to behold. We’ve pointed out that while there is more of a return that it’s not been all that easy to offer up the same number of giveaways that we used to do in the before times. Slowly but surely we rise once more and are happy to share this latest one with our readers. This is another first as PiercingMetal has never done a ticket giveaway for Blackmore’s Night.
The Details: If you’re a Hard Rock fan of any demographic, you already know the name of the Man in Black, Richie Blackmore from works with Rainbow and the legendary Deep Purple but are you properly schooled on his now long-standing Renaissance Rock experience known as Blackmore’s Night? If you have not enjoyed this troupe in the live sense then you are really missing out. It’s a festive show that finds many of the audience in Renaissance Fair attire to make the show all the more interesting. Over the years I’ve seen wizards, jesters, maidens and lords milling about and making this a lot more fun. It’s been a few years since I’ve caught them and now thanks to the marketing team at the beautiful Sony Hall in New York City, some of the PiercingMetal readership will be getting the chance to enjoy this concert for free. Let’s go over some of the details on how you participate in this giveaway. Continue reading Win A Ticket For Blackmore’s Night @ Sony Hall on 10/30/2022→

As the nation and our fair Metropolis are still battling the pandemic on many fronts, it’s not been all that easy to offer up the same number of giveaways that we used to do in the before times. Slowly but surely we rise once more and are happy to share this latest one with our readers. If memory serves me correctly, this will be the very first time that PiercingMetal tickets to see Michael Schenker.
The Details: Michael Schenker’s name is legendary among the legions of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal fans of the world from his early days in the Scorpions and onto UFO and then into his formation of the Michael Schenker Group which is most famously referred to as MSG with that bold logo. When many of us envision the Flying V we think of Michael Schenker and now as the musician celebrates his 50th Anniversary of touring the performance is sure to be loaded with classics and maybe even a few deep cuts. I can’t wait to be there and thanks to the marketing team at the beautiful Sony Hall in New York City, some of the PiercingMetal readership will be getting the chance to enjoy this concert for free.
