Cannibal Corpse Will Bring Death (Metal) To Winter 2016

As the temperature drops in NYC (a line that is actually being written with a wry grin since NYC feels more like the beginnings of Spring at the moment) the tour announcements are coming in fast and furious and are keeping an already busy schedule of Metal reporting. That being said it was only a few hours ago that we learned of this upcoming trek by those titans of the Death Metal Cannibal Corpse who will be looking to melt whatever winter ends up being like for us with help from Obituary, Cryptopsy and Abysmal Dawn. I’ve snagged the poster and press copy for you below and will add some thoughts at the close so do read on.

CANNIBAL CORPSE continues to tour in support of their A Skeletal Domain full-length, released last year via Metal Blade Records. The band’s thirteenth studio offering debuted at an astounding #32 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart upon its first week of release, making it the highest charting record in the band’s storied history! Produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver) at Audio Hammer Studios in Florida, the record boasts twelve ravenous tracks of confrontational, meticulously-executed, ill-omened brutality as only CANNIBAL CORPSE can deliver.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Right off the bat I have to say that this tour is one of those ones that totally speaks to a unique group of Metal fans and brings to them the pure product with no unnecessary fluff. That means no Alternative group, or Power Metal one in the mix and just your top notch brutality. Though I have always been more of the side observer to the power of Cannibal Corpse, I respect and recognize their legendary status in the Death Metal genre and am looking forward to this tour when it hits our Big Metal Apple’s own Irving Plaza. Let me not understate the mighty Obituary who I have not seen in action in far too long a time along with the fierce technical might of Cryptopsy. Drummers who are hitting this tour are encouraged to see if they can easily follow the handiwork of Flo Mounier from the band. Very difficult and speaking of chops, there are technical paths taken on the axe by Abysmal Dawn that will have the late great Chuck Schuldiner smiling down from the beyond on what he helped craft so many years ago. This tour is nothing less than a beast and is sure to melt whatever snow or ice is around us, if we even end up getting a proper winter next year. As I write this it’s about 50 degrees and we are in the second week of December now. What do you readers think about this tour? Is it something you are penciling into your events planner, I mean programming into your Smart Phone? Let me know in the comments below because I love hearing your thoughts on it all. Bring it on.
