Though my background on the band Batushka is still rather limited, I’m pleased to rally behind announcements about their activities and their Metal Blade Records label. Considering the band hasn’t been “here” much in terms of live appearances, you are very likely in the same corner as I am so let’s take a look at the latest scoop.

The Press Release:
Emerging from the shadows of eastern Poland back in 2015, black metal band Batushka have established themselves as one of the modern era’s most powerful and evocative bands. Harnessing the fire and fury of arcane black metal and channeling it through the reverberant grandeur of ancient rituals of worship, the band’s debut album Litourgiya stood apart from the extreme metal hordes: a monument to originality, depth and dark mysticism that swiftly cast its spell over the metal underground and beyond. The band’s sophomore album Hospodi is out now via Metal Blade Records.

The band has just announced its Fall 2019 tour plans. The band will bring its dark majesty to the U.S. and Canada by embarking on a headline tour of North America in November and December. PiercingMetal Thoughts: I should admit that I still need to give the brand-new album an overview but I have heard several tracks from the previous one “Litourgiya” and its very interesting stuff for sure. For the folks not too up on the band let me share that while Black Metal, they sound like an Eastern Orthodox mass in some respect. When I first heard them, I was taken back in some sense to my late Grandmothers Russian Orthodox church. Sure the band is Polish but they are singing in a Slavic language and uses this as a base. It’s hard to explain so open up Spotify or YouTube or whatever you use to listen to music nowadays. That’s all I have on this one and I wonder what you think about the news. Will you be planning to attend this run? I know it comes to NYC in December and I hope to see what its all about myself. Thanks for reading until next time
