ABOUT BABYMETAL:
In April 2016, BABYMETAL became the first Japanese artists to ever headline at the prestigious Wembley Arena in the UK. In June 2019, they performed at one of the world’s largest music festivals, Glastonbury Festival, and their appearance at this festival made headlines around the world. That same year in September, BABYMETAL embarked on their METAL GALAXY WORLD TOUR. On October 11th, 2019, BABYMETAL had a worldwide release of their 3rd album METAL GALAXY, and on that same day, they had their first U.S. headlining arena show at The Forum in Los Angeles, California. METAL GALAXY ranked No. 13 on the US Billboard Top 200 (Albums Chart), largely surpassing their own record of their previous album, and ranked No.1 on the Top Rock Albums chart for the first time ever as an Asian artist. In the UK Official Charts, the album consecutively ranked in the Official Albums Chart Top 20 from their previous album and ranked No.1 on the Rock & Metal Albums Chart for the first time in history as a Japanese artist.
In 2021, over a four-month period from January to April, they accomplished a total of 10 headline performances at the Nippon Budokan called 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN. After a two-year hiatus from live performances, BABYMETAL were unsealed for BABYMETAL RETURNS – THE OTHER ONE—where they performed at Makuhari Messe. Riding the success of 2023’s concept album THE OTHER ONE, Dance Metal sensation BABYMETAL hosted the first edition of their very own festival, FOX_FEST,, featuring exclusive appearances by ELECTRIC CALLBOY, POLYPHIA, and BILMURI. Always pushing boundaries and testing the limits of metal music, BABYMETAL are no strangers to collaborations, with recent partnerships including BRING ME THE HORIZON, TOM MORELLO, and LIL UZI VERT. Most recently, they teamed up with ELECTRIC CALLBOY for the high-energy single RATATATA, blending their signature sound with a fast-paced, electrifying dance-metal edge.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I don’t know about you out there in the readership but I just love the things that BABYMETAL brings to the musical table. Believe it or not, I’ve only seen them twice but I can tell you its one of the most fun and positive displays of kick-@$$ Metal that I’ve seen and many of you already know I do see a lot of fun things here as the Master and Commander of PM dotcom. Sure I know this is not for everyone and you might be one of the naysayers but look who is already behind them. It’s hard to argue their appeal when you look at the overall rundown. From the pair of shows I’ve witnessed in person I can say that while the audience is having fun, the girls up there are doing that as well and their band is nothing less than incendiary. They are called The Kami Band in case you didn’t know that already. I’m also stoked to find the openers that they are bringing along for the ride. I’ve been a fan of the Black Veil Brides for quite a few years now and when Jinjer first came onto the scene I knew that we were all in for something special. Then there is Bloodywood who you really have to experience first hand IMHO. Overall a proper night of exciting stuff and while its too early to know if I will be in town when they come to my region I can say that I am super interested. I generally go to see family around those days so I might have to miss out but that doesn’t stop the rest of you from chiming in and letting me know what you think about it all. Do that down in the comments and please also enjoy a few photos that I used my mobile for when I was watching from the cheap seats as the guest of an industry friend. Thanks again to them and I will see you all back here very soon with more awesome content.
