The announcement comes on the heels of their sold out O2 Arena headline show in London and news of their forthcoming album Metal Forth. Yesterday, they released a new single from it, “Song 3,” a collab track with Slaughter to Prevail. It’s one of the Japanese metal band’s most forceful tracks to date, pairing Slaughter to Prevail’s raw, punishing vocals with BABYMETAL’s soaring, melodic choruses. The result is tense and theatrical, but tightly controlled—a balancing act the band has long specialized in.

Meaning “beyond metal,” METAL FORTH, which has a new release date of August 8th, features further collaborations with Spiritbox, Tom Morello, Bloodywood, Polyphia, and Poppy—artists that BABYMETAL has connected with over the years while touring the globe. Their massive track “RATATATA” with Electric Callboy, which has already attained millions of streams across all platforms, will also be included.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So this is some pretty cool news because its an additional date on the bands tour and obviously a massive one. Now I don’t know if you remember way back in March when I first helped laud the tour (in a post you can find by clicking HERE), that I had mentioned my probably missing the regional date for NYC since I was going to be away. Well, as it would happen my trip is now two weeks earlier so I can do my best to be there with the masses at the Theatre at MSG. I’ll do my best to get all the stuff I need to do in the coming days. Of course this massive show will not be on my own agenda since its logistically out of bounds for me and there just isn’t a budget for me to travel to such things. So part of me is wondering something and you’ll have to work with me on this. The proper tour run ends before July runs out of days and this special gig is four months later which makes me think that the ladies in BABYMETAL are ready to announce an additional tour and this one performance is a part of that. I’d say that perhaps they were planning on hitting the New York Comic Con but that is weeks before the show and on the opposite coast. Curiouser and curiouser said Alice so only time will tell. I did mention in the earlier post that I love what they are all about and think that thing they do is a whole lot of fun. I caught them back in November 2024 with some friends and had a blast. They are so good and so energetic in concert and its hard to be a hater of them. I’d suggest that the newbies look up some videos on YouTube and then perhaps give them a shot live. I honestly think that BABYMETAL will surprise you and also with some solid supporting acts depending on where you catch them its either BVB or Jinjer. I’ll wrap this one up now as I’ve got a busy weekend ahead with a visit to Kaiju Brooklyn, which is a giant-monster convention that I recently posted about HERE for those who are in the vicinity and perhaps wish to attend. I also spent the last two days over at the International Franchise Expo for “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website and there is a bunch of stuff to hammer out about that. If you’re someone who is interested in this one just chime in down below in the comments and for good measure I am sharing a few of the photos that I snapped with my mobile when I caught that gig in November. See you next time my friends. Enjoy your weekend.
