Formed in the year 2000 by guitarist James Malone and drummer Mike Van Dynne, Arsis delivered a Technical Death Metal epic with their first album “A Celebration Of Guilt” and this would set the ball in motion on their career and impact upon the Metal scene. Over the years the band has seen numerous lineup and record label changes nut through it all, Malone continued to map out the bands vision and molten levels of Technical Death Metal. 2014 finds the band raising a glass to the 10th Anniversary of “A Celebration Of Guilt” and will be bringing along Allegeon and Exmortus as support. You can learn more about this tour by reading the press release below the poster and then we can examine the tour dates. Get going.
Press Release:
Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS proudly announce the ten year anniversary tour commemorating the release of the band’s debut 2004 album A Celebration Of Guilt. Presented by MetalSucks.net, the 19-date “A Decade Of Guilt” September tour through the U.S. and Canada will feature ARSIS playing the album in its entirety. Colorado’s technical melodic death metallers ALLEGAEON will be direct support; opening each night will be Los Angeles’ technical melodic death thrashers EXMORTUS.
“Ten years ago, I was a full-time college student that was given an opportunity,” states ARSIS guitarist, songwriter, and founding member James Malone. “The musical project that I had been working on ‘for fun’ on breaks from school was asked to record a full-length album for a small independent record label. I had no idea at the time what the response would be to it or if there would be any response at all. Almost as soon as the album was released – much to my surprise – we were getting attention from around the world and my life was forever changed. That album was called ‘A Celebration Of Guilt’ and myself and everyone in ARSIS would like to celebrate its ten year anniversary by playing the album in its entirety on tour. Many of songs have not been played live in years, if ever. Here’s to a decade of guilt and METAL!!!
Now I’ve been fortunate enough to see Arsis on numerous occasions at many, many shows that have hit my area but this will be the first time to my knowledge that I will ever have the chance to see them do a headlining set. The band is fantastic in the live sense and totally crushes your Metal senses with displays of Technical virtuosity. You don’t want to miss this if you can get out to one of the shows. Don’t be bummed if you don’t see the “venue near you” at the point of this posting as the band announced on their Facebook page that additional dates are being planned for this run. Despite that proclamation, if one of these shows is near enough to you be sure to get to it just in case. Our own NYC Region show is at the cozy Santo’s Party House and given the size of this venue I will stress that fans be on point about tickets for fear of a sellout. This tour is being sponsored by Metal Sucks and the band is currently on Nuclear Blast Records (one of our very favorite labels based on the roster).
