PiercingMetal Thoughts: I love what Arkona brings to the table and after having seen them at Gramercy Theatre a few times am slightly surprised at the choice of Saint Vitus Bar as the only NYC option. Of course this space has been climbing up the ranks as the “in place” to be to check out some Metal shows in the intimate sense so perhaps that was the rationale. There sure is going to be a lot of equipment around with this lineup so I hope to get to Greenpoint to see the opening night of the tour. It is a holiday weekend so who knows what will be going on in my world. What do you readers think about this tour? I mean it’s about a close to a Paganfest as you can get even though that particular touring effort seems to have gone by the wayside for the time being. Arkona is great live and so is Heidevolk but I cannot really say too much about the other two since I have not seen them enough to properly gauge. Let me know in the comments if you have anything to say about it.
