PiercingMetal Thoughts: Back in the original heyday or “The Casablanca Years”, I was not following Angel all that much. I enjoyed a few songs of course because who didn’t love the sonic power of “Tower”. When Punky Meadows put together a brand new band to play new originals and Angel classics I was happy to support and even knew some of the players involved. When the reunion with DiMino led to the reformation of Angel, I applauded the idea but really feel they should have branded it “The New Angel” to avoid any critics who are mad that those two are the only original members. That being said, the last time I caught Punky he had Frank singing and it was not yet this new version of Angel but they did almost all of their material. The band rocks and is worth seeing so if any of these shows are within your scope you should try to attend. I’m hopeful for a lengthier run in the coming year. As I close up let me know what you think of this tour announcement. See you next time.
