You’ll have to pardon me for not knowing all that much about this particular show outside of the “coming soon” scenes that I caught while watching the recent “Fargo” show on FX, but that being said, tonight is the debut episode of Guillermo del Toro’s “The Strain”.
The Premise: A plane lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport with the lights off and doors sealed. Epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team are sent to investigate. On board they find 206 corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when the bodies begin disappearing from morgues. Goodweather and a small group of helpers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but the entire city, from an ancient threat to humanity. (thanks to the shows Wiki).
I have to say that this sounds rather different from the regular kind of vampire shows that we have been seeing out there lately and thankfully far more terrifying than the stuff viewed in “The Vampire Diaries” and even the last couple of seasons of “True Blood”. The cast seems large but this will run for numerous episodes so it makes sense. Have you seen any of the coming soon clips or maybe read the books? Will you be watching this series? If so what are your thoughts about it coming to the smaller screen. Let me know in the comments and of course do check out the cast below.

Keep up with the show via it’s official Wiki entry but do also be wary of spoilers should you click deeper into the page. These references often have a way of ruining the show for those who have it on the DVR somewhere.

The series is based on a number of books so I have embedded links to those items on Amazon.com for your perusal in the same fashion that I had done for “Game Of Thrones”.
