If you are a fan of what’s been going on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then I say that its high time to pay a little mind to the smaller screen in your home (but if you are like me that is probably some kind of giant LCD screen so not too small in theory). That being said check out this new animated offering that features “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” in “Avengers Assemble”. The poster and premise are below.
The Premise: Avengers Assemble is an American animated television series, based on the fictional Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, which has been designed to capitalize on the success of the 2012 film adaptation. It will air on Disney XD. The series is a replacement for The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and it airs alongside Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.. Additionally, it features a near-identical cast and crew with both shows, and shares continuity with them as part of the block. Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle (a group known as Man of Action) have been confirmed to be the executive producers of the series. Falcon (the newest member of The Avengers) is the main eyes and ears of the viewer as he fights evil and saves the world with his teammates (consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Thor). I grew up on the original Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four cartoons along with the oh so vintage “Batman” live action series (which still needs to come out on DVD) so I think this might be a fun show to watch. It will be like seeing the comic books brought to life once again while we wait for the next films to be released. Remember next year we are getting two Marvel-ous releases with “Captain America The Winter Soldier” and “Guardians Of The Galaxy”. That’s exciting for sure. Will you watch this series or are you one of those who is “too old” for such things 🙂

Below you will find some links to related properties featuring The Avengers. I’ve tossed in some films as well for good measure.
