It’s been about ten years since the world has been privy to the happenings in the world of the NBC Television show “Heroes” and now its time to learn what has been transpiring and changed since that time as the new mini-series “Heroes Reborn” airs its premiere episode tonight. There will be 13 episodes and Series creator Tim Kring will return as the executive producer on the program. I’ve snagged the show’s plot and cast for you to examine below and then I’ll return with some thoughts.
The Plot/Premise:
According to the official synopsis, the miniseries would “reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season” in which ordinary people discovered that they had special abilities. The show will be preceded by a new digital series that introduces the new characters and storylines around which Heroes Reborn is centered. According to the official website, the series’ events will happen one year after a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas. This attack destroyed the city, and the government had blamed those with extraordinary abilities for it. After it, those people had to live in hiding or escaping from those with bad intentions. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni). They lost someone important in this tragic event, and are looking for their revenge.
Noah Bennet, aka HRG (Jack Coleman) is also in hiding, but is found by the conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski) who tries to show him the truth behind the Odessa tragedy. While they’re in hiding, some of them are discovering their newfound skills. Malina (Danika Yarosh) is a brave and courageous girl, who was brought up much overprotected, but she finds out she is destined for greatness. Erica (Rya Kihlstedt) is the head of the highly successful tech conglomerate called Renautas, and she has her own dark goals. Awkward teen Tommy (Robbie Kay) tries to live a normal life and just has eyes for his dream girl, Emily (Gatlin Green), but he discovers a new terrifying ability that makes his will almost impossible. Meanwhile in Tokyo, Miko (Kiki Sukezane), a unique and quiet girl is looking for her missing father, but she hides an extraordinary secret that can be dangerous to her. Somewhere, a singular type of hero is emerging through Carlos (Ryan Guzman), a former soldier. As long as new Heroes are emerging, some heroes of the past such as Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis), Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose), and Micah Sanders (Noah Gray-Cabey), among others, will cross paths with them. And, together, they will have their ultimate quest: save the world and mankind. (thanks Wikipedia).

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m not going to lie to you here and say that I was a diehard viewer because I wasn’t. I liked the first season but only saw it when my friend purchased the DVD boxed set. Then I began catching up with it on Netflix before I got caught up with lots of other things and stopped around the middle of Season Two. Now my friends loved it but I will NOT be watching this when it airs and instead shall be programming the DVR so I can get back on the original series to its completion before seeing what this mini-series is all about. Part of me wonders if anyone still remembers or even cares based on the fact that we have had so many true comic book superhero presentations on the big and small screen since this show ended its run but who knows. The premise sounds interesting but again I need to catch up first and then approach it. What about you readers? Were you diehards and have you been anxiously awaiting a moment like this? If so let me know in the comments below and if not you can do that also.
