The show was developed by Bryan Fuller and it features a Dr. Lecter during the times before what we know come to pass in the story of “Red Dragon”. I caught onto the show about four episodes into the airing and then sadly missed the last couple of the season but I had to say that I really enjoyed how it was being delivered. There was a creepiness to it for sure and while sometimes a little slow in getting to the point it kept me interested in seeing how each story would play out. I had to admit that it shocked me at the level of “ick” that we were getting on Network Television but then again times sure have changed over the years with the dominance of cable. My hope is that this gets to Netflix so I can binge watch the whole first season but this time I am not letting it prevent me from getting the DVR set to record the second season. I learned this mistake with “Arrow” season two. So with that being said ….. “Who’s hungry?”

The first season is available on standard edition DVD and Blu-ray so I’ve embedded codes for that along with the films that gave us the character in the first place. “Bon Appetit”.

  1. I gave the first season a shot and couldn’t make it through to the last 3 eps. The acting is poor and Mads Mikkelsen basically mumbles his way through his lines. His accent doesn’t help much. Larry Fishburne is totally wasted in this. Also the background music is actually foreground music during some key scenes of dialogue thus making the already nearly indecipherable speech even more so. Adding Gillian Anderson as Dr. Lecter’s shrink was a nice touch but perhaps too little too late. I don’t see it making it past season 2. I expected more from Bryan Fuller, a key Producer on Star Trek: Voyager.
